Verizon Wireless LTE 'ing the way to Mobile Nirvana.

Over the past week we have seen several new LTE devices released by and for use with the Verizon Wireless Network. LTE otherwise known as Long Term Evolution is sometimes described as 3.9G as it does not yet meet the International Telecommunications Union's requirements for true fourth generation mobile communications.

Verizon on the other hand has decided to advertise its new offerings as being 4G LTE devices which in a way that may seem misleading to some. These devices promise faster clearer and more stable connections over the industries previous 3G standard.

Smart-phones slated to join Verizon Wireless include the LG Revolution, The HTC Thunderbolt, Samsung's unnamed 4G LTE phone, and The Motorola Droid Bionic each running Google’s Android OS. The LG and Samsung phones also contain dual core processors while the HTC unit is driven by the 1GHZ snapdragon chip. While Motorola’s handset makes use of NVIDIA's Tegra 2 chipset and promises 1080p playback and nearly HD picture quality.

In addition to the mobile phones hand held computer tablets are stepping out in a big way harnessing cellular signal for mobile communications like never before. The Samsung Galaxy Tab, Motorola Xoom, are both shaping up to be big sellers for Verizon Wireless.

In addition to these nifty new hand held devices there are also two notebook's due out in the next couple of months. The Compaq CQ10-688nr and the Hewlett Packard Pavilion dm1-3010nr. The Cq10-688 offers a ten inch anti glare LED display with an Intel Atom n455 process or and the Pavilion from HP offers up its 11.6 inch display with “Vision Technology” from AMD and advanced Audio by Dolby.

Promising times for the mobile computing enthusiast. With the other networks busily working to fill out true 4G networks of their own and steadily raising performance standards, we are bound to see nothing but NET in the weeks and months to come.
