HTC, not one to rest on the laurels of success with last years EVO 4G, has put together a solid offering to bring to the party this year in the form of an almost familiar looking HTC EVO Shift 4G. At first glance you may well mistake the new model for its the EVO 4G, but once in hand the slight added weight and slide down physical qwerty keyboard assures you that the HTC EVO Shift 4G is something new altogether.
(specs after the jump)
The EVO Shift 4G feels good in your hands. The smartphone is a little smaller then its predecessor. Paring down the screen size to 3.6” from the EVO 4G's Giant 4.3”. This may make the phone a little harder to handle if your a hamfisted oaf but will probably improve the experience for the rest of us.
Sprint rolled out its new addition to the HTC lineup only days after announcing at this years CES, taking complete advantage of the new smartphone buzz that accompanies that huge exposition. And while the spec's are pretty much in line with smartphones being released in the near feature there are only a couple of comparable models available at this point.

To further stimulate sales Sprint dropped the price of the EVO Shift 4G 's introductory contract price as low as $99.99 when purchased at Amazon.Com. I predict that this low pricing scheme is indicative of the 2011 model year. There are already at least two other manufacturers offering similar deals on their new Android devices.
The HTC EVO Shift 4G is a good bet if your looking for a model with a physical keyboard and oyu want it NOW. The specs are not all that impressive when compared to some of the models coming out in the very near future, but it is still a good solid value from Sprint.
